Smooth Jazz Awards

This Saturday's National Smooth Jazz Awards Show at luxurious Golden Hall in San Diego at 7 PM (Pacific Time) will feature a great lineup of Stars performing their hits backed by an All Star HOUSE BAND including: Jeff Lorber, Gregg Karukas, Alex Al, Sergio Gonzales, and Paul Pesco. Almost the same band that handled the task for the Wave's 3 hour Marathon Wave for Peace Concert Oct 14 at The Forum in LA.

More presenters and performers are expected to be announced next week to the already scheduled artists such as Al Jarreau, Rick Braun, Keiko Matsui, Peter White, Kirk Whalum, Boney James, Fattburger, Wayman Tisdale, Gabriela Anders and Craig Chaquico.

The 3rd Annual Smooth Jazz Awards, hosted by Dave Koz and Brenda Russell will be filmed for BET and BET On Jazz networks. This year for the first time ever, the Smooth Jazz Awards show will be broadcast nationally on all participating smooth jazz radio stations.

Kloud 9 - On Kloud 9

Hello friends
Let me introduce you the new group Kloud 9. Those who never heard about the twin brothers Kelvis and Kendall Duffie, let me explain it shortly:

Originally performing together as part of a 4-member contemporary gospel outfit, the brothers found themselves working on the industry side of things, being involved in radio promotions, artist development and production after some time. The group started in 1999 with a first single, which was released on a compilation project entitled Soul Stepp’n on the UK label Expansion Records.

In March 2002 Expansion Records will release their first album called "On Kloud 9". Artists on this album are among the brothers Duffie Incognito, Karen Bernod and Kirk Whalum. A review about this album can you read here:

Steve Veale passed away

Sad to report the death of guitarist Steve Veale who died in January from melanoma. He was 38. Read a heartfelt tribute to Steve by Jonathan Widran at this site.
