CRAIG CHAQUICO TO GUEST DJ ON ALBUQUERQUE's KRQS-FM

Guitarist's Shadow and Light Streets April 23, Already #1 Most Added at Smooth Jazz Radio!

Guitarist Craig Chaquico's much-anticipated new CD, Shadow and Light has already made a big splash 3 weeks ahead of it's release.

The hot news is that the first single, “Luminosa,” is the #1 Most Added at Smooth Jazz Radio (R&R Chart) in its first week.

Adding to the excitement is that Craig has been asked to be the morning drive time “guest DJ” at Albuquerque's KRQS The Horizon, 105.1fm the week of April 22-26.

"I'm always excited about visiting New Mexico,” declares Craig. “Besides helping inspire one of my album titles, Four Corners, this magical area, and the people who live there, have always been an inspiration for so much of my own music. Since I always listen to KRQS when I've played concerts there, it'll be great to actually be a DJ on the station and play songs by friends I have toured and recorded with , who have always helped smooth out so many of my own mornings on the radio.

"Getting up so early to do a morning show is really not as bad as it sounds. Because of the time zone difference with Oregon, where I live, and not having to help get my son ready for school, I will actually be able to sleep in."

KRQS PD Paul Lavoie, commenting on this, the station's first-ever guest DJ event, said: “The station's affiliation with Craig goes back many years, his music reflects a southwest feel and our listeners love him. He has a great sense of humor, too. Having Craig host our morning show for a week is a perfect fit.”

Craig's show will air in morning drive time, 7-10am Mountain time, live from the Borders Books at the Winrock Mall in Albuquerque. KRQS-FM broadcasts at 100,000 watts, covering most of the state of New Mexico. The station is also webcast, streaming live at www.1051TheHorizon.com.

In addition, Craig will be the special guest of another smooth jazz star-turned radio DJ, Dave Koz, on the nationally syndicated Dave Koz Radio Show which airs throughout the U.S. the weekend of April 26-27.

Shadow and Light offers an exciting blend of romantic ballads, up-tempo jams reflecting the experience of his live ensemble, and four tracks featuring his dual passions - electric and acoustic guitars. Besides the current hit single “Luminosa,” the disc also features the remix of his #1 smooth jazz hit “Café Carnival” - with an explosive sax solo by Acoustic Highway bandmember Kevin Paladini, and a cover of the jazz classic “Compared to What” with popular saxmen Warren Hill and Jeff Kashiwa contributing.
