Chuck Loeb To Honor Stan Getz And Ray Charles On New Album

Guitarist Chuck Loeb pays tribute to two big names on his upcoming CD.

ChuckLoeb_bw.jpgSmooth jazz guitarist Chuck Loeb, who joined the band of legendary saxophonist Stan Getz 25 years ago for a two-year stint, will dedicate a song to his former boss on his upcoming album.

And what a song it is. Loeb has confirmed that he will interpret one of Getz�s most famous songs, �The Girl From Ipanema,� for his upcoming album. Getz, who helped popularize Brazilians bossa nova music in the U.S. with Antonio Carlos Jobim with songs like �The Girl From Ipanema� and �Desafinado,� died in 1991.

In addition, Chuck will include an original song he wrote in honor of the late Ray Charles, �Brother Ray.�

The new album, Loeb�s seventh for the Shanachie label, will be called When I�m With You. Other titles that Loeb has finished include "Double Life,� "Tropical� and �Anytime, Anywhere.�

When I�m With You is expected to be released on Feb. 22, 2005.
