The veteran British pop vocal group Swing Out Sister is defined, of course, by the deeply resonant vocals of Corinne Drewery and its catchy, easy-on-the-ears melodies. The group also features Andy Connell on piano and Paul Staveley ODuffy on programming and percussion.
Love Wont Let You Down is one of those upbeat, sunny songs that seems lifted from the go-go 1960s. Drewerys vocals are sublime, of course, but its the constant vocal refrain from the group whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh-ohhh that makes the song sparkle and keeps it lodged in your head long after its over. Its one of the best songs of 2004.
The song is from the bands brand-new album called Where Our Love Grows, on the Shanachie label. The rest of the CD is sublime, too.
