Arno Haas - Magic Hands (2013)
Saxophonist Arno Haas is a seasoned player hailing from Germany, he did his latest record in LA with a who's who of players like Brian Bromberg, Vinnie Colaiuta, Joel Taylor, Bill Champlin, Jeff Golub, Tony Moore, Thom Rotella, Everette Harp and many more, the result is an outstanding mix of smashing jazz-funk and smooth jazz featuring the sax of the leader. Very recommended!
Magnus Lindgren - Souls (2013)
Swedish saxophonist Magnus Lindgren comes up with this beautiful, laid-back album featuring his playing on sax and flute, plus a host of guests, like singer Gregory Porter, who does some outstanding work, making this record a beauty to behold. Thumbs up!
Stefano Di Battista - 'Round About Roma (2002)
Thanks to the suggestion of saxophonist Andrew Neu, I discovered this album and found a stellar saxophone player backed by a full orchestra delivering material that moves from classical to new age to straight ahead, with the song "Romeo & Juliet" taking me to the stratosphere. A musical milestone!
Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue (1959)
I have never been a fan of Miles, but this album is one that I can come back to over and over again and indulge in the music, played by a stellar group of musicians that are connecting on a higher level, being entertained from the first note to the last. Downloaded from HDtracks in high resolution (192kHz/24bit). A definitive desert island disc!
Herbie Hancock - The Complete Columbia Album Collection 1972-1988 (box set)
This set is a must have, it contains pianist Herbie Hancock's complete output from his jazz-funk period, plus straight-ahead material with V.S.O.P. and several albums that were released in Japan only, so these 34 discs provide enough music to sink your teeth in, even if you should only enjoy parts of this varied collection. This is the soundtrack of my life (thanks God)!

'Counting Stars' by Croatian sax-man Igor Gerzina from his latest CD One Click World. This, first single to be offered to radio, is Igor's instrumental cover version of the OneRepublic smash hit and the sort of hard driving yet mellifluous cut we have come to expect from him.
'Cali-Sol' by JDR & Surewill from the album Side By Side. With a music career now spanning over two decades, guitarist and songwriter, Joel Del Rosario (aka JDR) has teamed with multi-instrumentalist, writer and producer Will 'Surewill' Clark for what is a fabulous collection. A case in point is 'Cali-Sol' which features sax from the always-excellent Tony Exum Jr., a vibe to die for and great work on guitar from Del Rosario.
'Make It Better' by Jarez from his latest release, On Top Of The World. This compelling cut is, in terms of smooth jazz to R & B cross-overs, right up there with the best of them.
'River Seine' by Alex Bugnon from the album Harlem. With vocals by Grammy award nominee Maysa this is a track that proves to be as smoothly flowing as the river from which it takes it name.
'Kiss and Tell' by Lebron from the CD Shades. One of eight tracks written or co-written by Darren Rahn, this sublimely turned down number includes magical keyboards from rising star Nicholas Cole.
