This former drummer can now legitimately be considered as the 90's # 1 trumpeter/flugelhornist artist in demand.  In 1998 alone Rick Braun tallied countless hits for other artists.  Giving notoriety to such songs as Brian Bromberg's "Hero" to new comer Gabriela Anders "Fire of Love".

Not to be known simply as a killer sideman, Rick Braun once again teamed up with producer Paul Brown in his latest entitled "Full Stride".  The album also boosts some major talents in Brian Culbertson, vocalist Maysa Leak and Braun's dear friend Moon Calhoun.

Originally entitled "South of Midnight"  had Braun looking like Chet Baker in an era that jazz was dominant, but Braun explains the name change was  spontaneously driven when they were in the process of finishing up the photo shoot for the cover.  It was there that the name Full Stride arise.  If one were to look at the cover they'd agree the name is quite fitting.

The recent Rick Braun sound can pretty much be summed up as being heavily bass driven.  With a simple bass rhythm orchestrated with Braun's unique sound it can't be wrong.

Personal favorites on the album would be the 2 Brian Culbertson compos. "Hollywood & Vine" , "One Love".  Full stride also showcases the producing talents of Braun's dear friend and former drummer Moon Calhoun who is confined to a wheel chair after an unfortunate accident.  The track is called "Moonshot" and is a highlight in it's own right.
